I believe that it's better to be looked over than it is to be overlooked." - Mae West
I officially got into the hair biz in 1996 when I was 18 years old, but I had started taking on hair appointments much earlier than that. In my own little "Salon Casa" (aka. my parents bathroom,) I created prom and homecoming updo's for all of my friends. After a few years of doing high school updo's (my mom irritated by finding her good towels ruined by hair color and several occasions of staining the bath tub pink and red,) I was strongly encouraged to look into the hair industry. So I did; fresh off the grill from high school I started cosmetology school, and fell in love with it more then I realized I would. I view hair as a unique art medium that I can use to create and be creative with. A fresh cut and color makes people feel amazing about themselves, which makes my job even better. So here I am today, a decade plus, still loving it and encouraging people to be vain!
I like clean blunt cuts, uneven texture, and sometimes the two mixed together. I like rich and vibrant colors; I appreciate mellow soft colors as well, but reds and coppers are my favorite. I love the shine that hair gives off after an amazing color service; when light hits your hair, it's like the sun reflecting off ripples of water or spun gold thread reflecting off every bend.
